Varmint Rifle

Varmint Rifle
A varmint rifle is a small caliber (.22-.25) but very accurate rifle when fired at 200-400 yards. The name varmint was derived from the term vermin, which means small animals that are considered pests and therefore unprotected by gaming laws. Because these animals are so small and so alert, hunters usually are unable to get very close to them in order to take a shot. This is why an accurate rifle is needed.
