Turret

A gun turret is a device that protects the crew of a projectile firing weapon (like a gun), as well as to protect the weapon, while at the same time allowing the weapon to be rotated and aimed in many directions. The rotating platform of the weapon can be mounted to the ground, a boat, a plane, or a vehicle and can be used with one or more guns, cannons, missile launchers, etc... A gun turret can be manned or controlled remotely.
